The Uglies

The Uglies (13+ teen) Tally Youngblood lives in a future world where before the pretty surgery at 16, everyone is considered an ugly. Tally longs to take the surgery, after loosing her best friend to New Pretty Town, the place where all new pretties live. During her wait for her 16th birthday, Tally makes a new friend, who challenges everything she thought about being pretty, and pulls her into a much more divided world than the one she knew.
